Extraction, characterization, and kinetics of N-deacetylation of chitin obtained from mud crab shells

چکیده

This study focuses on the isolation, chemical and crystalline structures, kinetics of heterogeneous deacetylation chitin from mud crab shells ( Scylla serrata). The independent variables in this work are temperature, NaOH concentration, reaction time. degree (DD) resulting chitosan was determined for different times. It found that DD increases nonlinearly with followed pseudo first-order it occurred two stages, which respectively attributed to acetamide groups amorphous region external layer, inside particles. rate constants latter stage at 35°C, 75°C, 105°C were 4.67×10 −4 min −1 , 3.00×10 −3 4.61×10 respectively. Based temperature-dependent constant, activation energy slow estimated be 32.6 kJ mol .
